Oneshi Press Anthology #02

ONESHI PRESS CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS, SEEKS TO ELEVATE MARGINALIZED VOICES

Missoula-based independent publisher Oneshi Press is currently taking submissions for short comics for its 5th quarterly anthology, due out July 1, 2018.

Writers and sequential artists are invited to submit 8-page works that draw readers into richly developed worlds. The Press is also seeking submissions of visual art from fine artists, and guest art of Oneshi Press characters.

Submissions for the 5th anthology are due by March 1, 2018, and the Press is always accepting submissions for future anthologies.

“Our anthologies are celebrations of the different, explorations of the weird—stories nobody else is publishing,” says co-founder and sex-positive author Lynsey G. “At Oneshi Press, we want to see sequential art that tells stories from unique perspectives, upends conventional patterns of thought, and makes us go, ‘Wow, that’s gorgeous.’”

Oneshi Press prioritizes marginalized voices and stories that are told from those perspectives. LGBTQIA+ creators, creators of color, disabled creators, and others with unique stories to tell are especially encouraged to submit their work. Creators retain ownership of their work, and are paid royalties.

Anthologies sometimes include depictions of non-explicit sexuality and violence; creators should be comfortable with these themes when they submit.

Past anthologies have featured serial publication of the sex-positive, feminist sci-fi epic Tracy Queen; Lomack, an apocalyptic dark fantasy; and the canine-vigilante-noir series PACK. They have also featured one-shot short comics from an exceptional group of diverse creators from around the world.

Submissions guidelines can be accessed at the Oneshi Press website.
