Happy Pride from Oneshi Press

Picture it. You’re at an outdoor gathering to celebrate Pride Month 2021. It’s warm and sunny, you’re out among people for maybe the first time in a long time. There’s music playing, people dancing, and rainbow flags everywhere. You’re enjoying the ambiance of people being themselves, celebrating love and self-expression. Maybe you’re a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, or maybe you’re there as a respectful ally. Whatever the case—you’re having a great day.

Then, someone who’s dancing nearby gets a little carried away and bumps into you, knocking you off balance. With a laugh, you look up to see Tracy Queen, the sex-positive hero of the Oneshi Press graphic novel in progress, smiling down at you.

“Sorry,” she says with a smile, then reaches down to help you back up. “I must have backed this thing up a little too hard.” The sun shines down from behind her, ringing her head in shining rays as a pride flag waves overhead. Petals from a nearby fruit tree filter down between you.

You clasp her hand and stand back up. Both of you are smiling. “Happy pride,” you say at the same moment, then burst out laughing.
