Miguel Colón

Miguel Colón is the writer and illustrator of Lomack: The Giant Warrior Angel featured in Oneshi Press Comic Anthologies 1-3, 5 & 7.

Miguel was born in the South Bronx in 1969. In 1983 he began attending the High School of Art & Design, where he was introduced to the art of oil painting from life in the “Old Hat Club” of lore, a morning painting class that began two hours before the bell for first period rang, taught by the beloved Irwin (Greeny) Greenberg.

Miguel holds a BFA in painting from the SVA, where he studied under the legendary Jack Potter. He also studied drawing, painting, and sculpting the figure with Costa Vavagiakis, Ephraim Rubenstein, Barney Hodes, Peter Cox, and Ronnie Landfield of the Art Students League of New York. He was a teaching assistant for Costa at the Art Students League, National Academy of Design, and New York Academy of Art.

He is a 2001 recipient of the first Edwin Austin Abbey Mural Foundation Workshop Grant at the National Academy of Design.
