LaNada “Lenny” Peppers

Lenny wrote and lettered Quantum: 1.1 featured in Oneshi Press Comics Anthology 8.

Lenny Peppers is a storyteller. She is Tsétsêhéstâhese (Northern Cheyenne) and Apsáalooke (Crow) and is of Kawaik (Laguna Pueblo) ancestry. She spends her days working to tell stories from an indigenous perspective and approach through her work in comedy, film-making, art, poetry, photography, fashion, music, and of course, writing. She works within both fiction and nonfiction platforms with the goal of breaking down westernized frameworks and indigenizing the art and media industries so that there are more opportunities for future Native artists and writers to contribute without the hurdles that she had to overcome.

Currently, she is working on her comic book, Quantum, which is about a Northern Cheyenne woman who sets out to find her sister, who disappeared after an anonymous source leaked a secret government file in an obscure forum on the internet. Along the way, she finds that she has new powers to go along with her newfound strength to bring justice to her people.

Lenny is also currently pursuing her fourth degree—a Masters in film-making. Her other degrees include journalism and Tsétsêhéstâhese/Native American/Indigenous studies and history. She plans to move on to achieve her PHD in Indigenous Activism through Art and Media.
