Allison Bannister is a cartoonist and comics scholar. She has contributed work to a variety of small press collections, including Wayward Sisters and Local Haunts, as well as self-publishing an increasingly eclectic array of mini-comics. She mostly writes things which can be read as fairytales, sometimes with dinosaurs, ghosts, and critiques of Shakespeare thrown into the mix. As a scholar, she’s interested in comics, gender, pop culture, and storytelling with unconventional materials. She holds an MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies and is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication and Rhetoric.
